Schools say no to logos

The Christian Science Monitor reports that a growing number of schools and school districts have instituted no-logo clothing policies.

The fact that the policy at the school in the opening paragraph also bans "images, photos, jazzy patterns, [and] garish colors" makes this whole thing entirely retarded by association. I'd honestly rather see schools force students to wear corporate logos than to have a dress code like that.

The explanation as to why a "Dare me" shirt should be banned is just depressing.

Where you see a stand against corporate branding, I see a licensing opportunity: "This school district is sponsored by Payless Shoe Stores."
