Local Pranksters Sued by McDonalds
UPDATE: Stay Free contributor taken in by April Fool's Day prank, posts fictitious cry for help. McDonald's to sue Stay Free for slander (probably)
To be fair, nobody ever said McDonald's had a sense of humor, but this seems quite low: they're suing New York pranksters Improv Everywhere for a very harmless stunt in which someone posed as a tuxedo-clad restroom attendant in a Times Square McDonald's. IE is organizing a live concert benefit to help with the legal fees they're laying out. Many of the IE folks regularly haunt the Upright Citizens Brigade, so you can bet this will be a funny benefit.
If you have any connections with any musical acts or comedy acts that would be willing to perform (without pay) at this event, please let us know via the contact page on our site:
http://www.improveverywhere.com/contact.php. We are also searching for a venue, so let us know if you have any leads in that area as well. If you are interested in speaking out on our behalf, there are instructions for contacting McDonald's Corporate by mail and by phone on this page:

Thank you for your continued support of Improv Everywhere. We are confident that this is a frivolous lawsuit, and we will make it through this.

Call me crazy but this sounds suspiciously like an April Fool's Joke. Do you know these guys personally, Damian?

I know some of them personally through poker. I offered to help. I was told that I am the April Fool. Very well done, fellows.
Were you in on this also, Damian?

Sure enough, it was a joke. Sent out in the form of a message to people on IE's mailing list. Is this so far-fetched, though? I guess I'm just incredibly gullible.
