Separated at Birth, inanimate edition
I've always found Circus Peanuts a fairly repellent candy. And I've never been too big a fan of the flavor of earplugs. Now I know why.
So really, the differences seem to be scale, slight color variation, and packaging. Perhaps one is sweetened more, too.

Yeah, I've always hated Circus Peanuts too. Organic packaging peanuts taste better than those miracles of science. But the real question is... did you taste the earplugs before or after they were used?

Both.
Results:
Before insertion- bland
After insertion- bitter, but compelling.

I gave my friend Matt a package of circus peanuts as a joke, "The worst birthday present ever." We ended up finding their real use was to throw at other students.

The earplugs have a fruitier taste, sort of like those orange children's aspirin, but if you snip them down to the right size, the circus peanuts block more sound, enabling a better night's sleep.
