"Name My Group!" strikes gold

Last week, an as-yet-unnamed New York improv group auctioned off their naming rights on eBay. It seemed like a lark to start with — longform improv generally pulls in money and press on a scale comparable to, say, arena football, and most people interested enough to name a group would probably just start one.

Surprisingly, though, "Name my Group!" banked over $1,300 from the auction — enough dough to buy 277 admission tickets to their their home theatre. Who would pay so much, you ask? (Answer after the fold.)
