Though the Germans Do Enjoy Their Beer…

The last thing I want to do is spark some Boys From Brazil controversy about Germans in Latin America. I merely want to point out a similarity between a souvenir magnetic crest of Deutschland and the logo of the Costa Rican beer Cerveza Imperial. Can_2

It's no mystery about Germans in Latin America. In many cases they shaped or started the beer brewing industry in some Latin American countries. This usually goes back to the time of Maximilian, at least in Mexico, so it would predate that "Boys from Brazil" reference...though who knows! ;-)

Many people, myself included, think of Germany as being a producer of quality beer, so it would be natural for the Costa Rican brewer to pay tribute to its heritage by *cloning* some German symbols and colors.

¡salud!
