Wow. There aren't many ads that manage to fill me with wrath these days but this is one of them. Unbelievable (but not *that* unbelievable).

I can't really tell what's going on in the photo that you posted below the ad, though. Is that an airbag going off?

This doesn't surprise me; Acura has always appealed to homos with unresolved aggression issues.

It's a man. I think it's one of those pictures where once you see it, you can't NOT see it.

This ad appears in the current New Yorker, by the way, inside back cover.

By the way, it's also worth noting that under current law, if you really feel the urge to kill someone, you can satisfy it without penalty if you use a car.

I'm visualizing a parody of this ad with the same car and headline but including a middle-aged person smashing up the car with a baseball bat.

Ah, Jeez, I can't wait for the "on-demand freeway catapult" or the "voice-activated bazooka ports."

The ad industry only feeds into this 'Culture of Aggression' by demanding that the only way you can elevate your status is by dominating others. It seems obvious that it's all rooted in insecurity, but why are so many with so much to prove? I wonder if it results from the fact that goods once considered luxuries are now widespread among the masses, and the only way you can distinguish yourself from the BMW driving hordes is to drive like an assholio.
