Introducing iDud

Idumpfront_1 With all of the adorable accessories you can buy for an iPod now — from knitted or suede cases to handbags to hats (yes, hats) — Jason and I thought it'd be fun to come up with an accessory of our own. Thus, we are pleased to introduce the iDump Disposal System, a high-end, elegant trash bag designed exclusively for iPods (see fine print).

This is also my way of noting that we've soft-launched iDud, a new web site that calls attention to the shoddy construction of iPods and similar electronic devices.

If anyone is in the San Francisco Bay area and would be willing to help us hand out iDud literature (trash bags) at Macworld, January 8 - 12, by all means let me know.

Just FYI, the website looks a mess in Internet Explorer 6. If anyone can help us fix the CSS to work around the IE6 bugs, please let me know and we'll credit you on the site.

Ipods are disposable items by designe. The batteries are difficult to replace and there life expentancy are about two years. Nupower has batteries and instructions for the replacement.

Props to you guys: now that's a great idea.

Hats for iPods?! Now I KNOW that Apple are milking the one same cow.

I don't know how much market they'll get for the brand new iPhone though. I mean, there's already a Walkman phone. What do you guys think? How long is the iPod, and any affiliations, going to last?

funny idea....but the green consumer in me is not a big fan of the creation of plastic bags (i.e. more garbage) as a protest/disposal method.
