That's appalling, but what the hell falls under that 0.9% "other"? Unicycle? Hang-glider? Or maybe it's variations on "walk" (sprint, skip...)>

That's really weird that many more people car pool than use public transport. I wonder what the same pie chart would look like in the UK.

I hope we're not reading that pie chart with a NYC centrist view. For many people living in the suburbs or rural areas there is no public transportation offered from one suburban neighborhood to another (where their office park might be located.) Further, the people live very isolated lives in the suburbs, and probably don't live near their other co-workers. And it's not just suburbs, have you ever tried taking the bus in LA?

Do I think if people who have shitty public transportation option or no options at all would take public transportation if it were offered? Probably not without some major campaigning for them to do so, but there first has to be an option.
